FW&D’s participation in the BNI Prosper Alexandria networking group afforded us an invitation from Lillian Cheng, a Fairlington resident and president of the Alexandria Jaycees, to support the USO program Operation USO Care Packages.
FW&D’s Ned Overton readily accepted the invitation and reported for duty at Ft. Belvoir where he was put on the assembly line, packing camouflage bags with requested supplies.
Each care package contains sunscreen, snacks, playing cards, toiletries and other items requested by service members. Donations help purchase and ship these items.
To date, OUCP has distributed more than 1.8 million care packages and on Saturday, Alexandria Jaycees (with FW&D) added another 5,838 packages to the total.
Special thanks to the USO for it’s great program, and the Alexandria Jaycees for inviting the Prosper Alexandria BNI to participate. FW&D is happy to be involved in such a wonderful, giving endeavor.
